Final Project Artist Statement

Remembering You

I am dedicating this piece to one of the most significant people to me today. This work is my re-creation of a feeling I get when I think about how much this person actually means to me. My mind feels, sometimes, like a glass that tips over every once in a while where these feelings come pouring out. The beginning scenario represents the result of that spill. The more caring and emotional side of myself that I, at times, allow others to see. Should one choose to venture further, they’ll eventually find the source of the stream that allows this place to flourish. The Japanese symbol in the corridor is the equivalent of the word “truth”. This truth I am speaking of is the most honest of feelings I get when I stop, sit quietly and listen to a certain song that, for some reason, feels like it encompasses some of the most meaningful aspects of my life. Those things, specifically, are many of the times I’ve shared with my best friend.
