High Dynamic Range
In this study we were given the assignment to learn and utilize a skill known as High Dynamic Range. This was a fun project for me because I had never used HDR before and the pictures that can be obtained using it are amazing. Basically HDR is using 3 different photos of the same object in the same place; the only difference between the 3 photos is the amount of exposure each one has. Then digitally one compiles the three photos together into a picture that has a higher range of light and color then normally obtained through a camera. The results can be breathtaking.
This was my first photograph taken using HDR, u can see more tones and colors when you compare it with the 3 originals.
This was my second HDR photograph. In this one you can see areas (under the balcony) where light normally casts shadows, however with HDR they appear lit.
In this photograph I used another use for HDR. I wanted to get a picture of the inside of the building however I still wanted to see the stuff on the other side of the doors. By combining the three different exposures I get the desired effect, something one wouldn't be able to do with a normal picture.
This photograph is of the fly rail at the playhouse, normally a dark place I used the three photos to pick up more details then normally possible. I also got some very nice color tones.
By far the most artistic of all my HDR shots, this picture was taken from my room early one morning, it combines many of the aspects of HDR together and is an overall interesting composition to look at.
