The AVA Project is an on-going series of transmedia performances and installations exploring the delicate relationship between human nature and technology will be presented at the International Festival of Electronic Language: File 2002 Symposium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, August 20, 2002 at 8PM. The AVA Project brings together a unique collaboration of six artists: Kathleen Ruiz - animation/project designer, Elise Kermani - sound composition/interactive design, Barbara Kilpatrick - set design/set objects, Lisa Naugle - motion capture choreography/live choreography, Sarah Plant - composer acoustic instrument segments), and Vicky Shick - live choreography. Join us for a screening and discussion of the riveting documentary chronicling the struggles of a group of black and Latino whistleblower cops and the young minorities they are pressured to arrest and summons in New York City.
A workshop “Storytelling at the Margins,” with the film’s director/producer/cinematographer/editor Stephen Maing, will precede the screening from 4-6pm.
