The AVA Project is an on-going series of transmedia performances and installations exploring the delicate relationship between human nature and technology will be presented at the International Festival of Electronic Language: File 2002 Symposium in Sao Paulo, Brazil, August 20, 2002 at 8PM. The AVA Project brings together a unique collaboration of six artists: Kathleen Ruiz - animation/project designer, Elise Kermani - sound composition/interactive design, Barbara Kilpatrick - set design/set objects, Lisa Naugle - motion capture choreography/live choreography, Sarah Plant - composer acoustic instrument segments), and Vicky Shick - live choreography. Mohawk storyteller Kay Olan (Ionataiewas) will visit Rensselaer to share traditional Mohawk stories to help inform the Augmented Reality for Cultural Heritage Design course's collaboration with the City of Cohoes to produce an AR application for cultural heritage.
