Arts Professor Pauline Oliveros will install her Deep Listening Room in the Ehrenkrantz Gallery located in the lobby of the Whitney Museum for the Biennial, May 21-25. The room will feature Oliveros's Expanded Instrument System - a processing program that will hear the sounds of the lobby and transform them to sound art played in an eight channel sound system. Compositions from Tape and Electronic Music 1961-1970 will also be featured along with slides and video projections on the walls of the gallery. Performers from the International Contemporary Ensemble will play Oliveros Text Scores at random times Saturday and Sunday along with a performance by Oliveros on her V accordion.
