Meltz’s work in this group exhibition is part of his Laborers series, in which he uses printmaking, collage, video, and sculpture to critically investigate the intersection of labor and technology. Told through images and narratives of robotic characters in technological dystopias, Laborers shows technology’s influence on the institutions of school, war, and the factory as characters struggle to escape jobs that threaten to bore, brainwash, and kill them.

Join us for a screening and discussion of the riveting documentary chronicling the struggles of a group of black and Latino whistleblower cops and the young minorities they are pressured to arrest and summons in New York City.
A workshop “Storytelling at the Margins,” with the film’s director/producer/cinematographer/editor Stephen Maing, will precede the screening from 4-6pm.
