Computer Music Concert-December 4th

Through their hands on work, undergraduate students in Arts 2020 – Computer Music have utilized a variety of hardware and software including Pro Tools, Reason and Ableton Live. The class focuses on music composition in the context of modern computerized production methods.
Technical topics studied include basic principles of computer sound generation, digital sound sampling, and the use of small computers for musical control of electronic instruments. Musical topics include a study of important musical works and compositional techniques of the 20th century.

Students will be sharing their final projects in this informal concert.

Mohawk storyteller Kay Olan (Ionataiewas) will visit Rensselaer to share traditional Mohawk stories to help inform the Augmented Reality for Cultural Heritage Design course's collaboration with the City of Cohoes to produce an AR application for cultural heritage.
