The "black box studio suite" is a three-room system designed to accommodate live audio and video recordings, small concerts, lectures, and other special events. DCC 174 is the large black box space, which allows for the staging of performances and installations. It consists of a configurable lighting grid, projection screen, and a black curtain that can cover all sides of the space. Internet connections can be routed for high speed to facilitate live internet performances, DCC 178 is the vocal voice over booth to compliment the audio recording capabilities of the black box space. It consists of a small soundproof room with a window view into the black box space. DCC 175 is the control room for black box and voice over booth and allows for multi track digital audio recording via pro-tools. A separate video editing system allows for a live 3 video camera recording production onto DVcam format.
