TILT/SHIFT: works from Advanced Digital Imaging

TILT/SHIFT: works from Advanced Digital Imaging

Gallery 111, West Hall

April 20, 2011 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

A student exhibition of photography, collage, stencil, processing, assemblage, and projection projects from Advanced Digital Imaging.

Show runs April 18-22.   Opening reception: Wednesday April 20, 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

The works in this exhibition explore the charged relationship of observer, observed and the process of observation in personal, public and political situations. Using the metaphor of "Tilt-shift", a creative photographic technique that tilts the lens plane relative to the image plane, making life-sized locations or subjects look like miniature-scale models, the works ask have we devolved into toy-like entities or can we take ourselves and the problems of our world more seriously.
