Pauline Oliveros, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has nominated Blair Neal, an MFA candidate. As a filmmaker and musician, Neal in interested in the relationship between sound and image. PICS will feature his short film 10,000 Items or Less which takes the viewer on a dizzying and overwhelming tour of the supermarket.
Nominated by Kathleen Ruiz, Natt Phenjati is an undergraduate sophomore studying at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Phenjati, originally from Thailand, creates work in photography and digital media that is sensitive to the universal human condition. PICS will feature his current work, Transforming and Transcending, a photo essay which follows his younger Thai cousin as he becomes a Buddhist monk.
