February 21, 2018 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Mohawk storyteller Kay Olan (Ionataiewas) will visit Rensselaer to share traditional Mohawk stories to help inform the Augmented Reality for Cultural Heritage Design course's collaboration with the City of Cohoes to produce an AR application for cultural heritage. Kay Olan has been telling stories for over 30 years, to correct stereotypes and misconceptions about Native peoples, to share stories that continue to resonate today, helping us not only understand the past but also our contemporary experience. Kay's storytelling practice helps to bridge differences across the experiences of Native and non-Native peoples, working towards a more peaceful and harmonious future.
