"Earthaluya" Summit with Reverend Billy

"Earthaluya" Summit with Reverend Billy

The Sanctuary for Independent Media, 3361 6th Ave., North Troy (between Glen and 101st Street)

April 14, 2012 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Choir are activists from New York City. They have been abused by fundamentalist gods and are in recovery together. As earth radicals, they built sculptures, waist-high mountains, in bank lobbies of institutions that finance mountaintop removal. The Stop Shoppers use soil of exploded Appalachian Mountains for their art. Then they exorcise the ATMs and hand out information. They performed on the opening day of Zuccotti Square, on September 17th, and performed constantly through the fall, also visiting Occupy communities in Europe and across the United States. This past Thanksgiving - the church hosted a Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixin's in a Bank of America lobby, with the guest of honor Kendall Jackman, who had been evicted from her home by B of A. The Stop Shopping Church hopes to bring earth justice and social justice together in their work to the Occupy movement. Earthalujah! Revolujah!

FREE with RPI ID; others: $10 admission
