Craig Shepard to conduct listening walk with Deep Listening students

Composer, Craig Shepard will speak to Deep Listening students about his work ”Brooklyn on Foot” in West Hall, room 326.  A listening walk through Troy,NY will follow the lecture. Please note that the listening walk will be done in silence and without cell phones. Lecture and listening walk is free and open to the public.

"Brothers of the Black List" with Sean Gallagher

Brothers of the Black List tells the story behind the longest litigated civil rights case in U.S. history. It all began in September 1992, when an elderly women in Oneonta, NY reported that she had been attacked in an attempted rape by a young black male who cut his hand during the altercation. This led to a college administrator at nearby SUNY Oneonta giving police a list of the names and residences of all 125 black males in town, questioning them and demending to see their hands.

Steve Baker -  The redescription of the world and Monika Bakke - And the plant responded.  An artist/art historian and philospher offer talks that will challenge participants to re-imagine and re-think the lives of plants and animals.
