James Baumgartner spent his time at RPI creating all types of digital art. For his thesis project, James created Voteauction.com, a media intervention work that purported to be a marketplace for votes in the 2000 US presidential election. After dealing with the legal matters that came about as a result of Voteauction.com (lawsuits, restraining orders, FBI investigations), James decided to take a break from media intervention art. He currently works as the station manager at a campus/community radio station in Edmonton, Alberta. It is very cold there, requiring the use of lobster gloves and a toque for 6-7 months of the year (see picture).
