I stay up at night and wonder if William Burroughs was right when he wrote "we are dying animals on a doomed planet." Everyday I am bombarded with images and sounds that tell me what my body should look like, whom I should love and desire, what my lifestyle should be, where to shop, who to celebrate, who to trust. I pick up the paper and flip through pages and pages of evidence that show how we are being fucked by politicians, corporations, institutions of learning, the law, and above all by our own apathy, ignorance, and fear. I don't know what I can do to change this in a way that will have a far-reaching effect but I have chosen art-activism as my platform for creating positive change and inspiring critical thinking and subversion of the status quo. Currently I am working on developing a series of tools that will facilitate the disruption of capital and accepted notions of history. Desperation, anger, and hope inspire me to create by any means necessary.
